Through the PARENT and B-DER projects, we bring together households with solar energy production facilities (prosumers). Installing energy monitors in households of different types (houses, apartments and boats), we gain insights on the electricity consumption and PV production and support them in their journey towards energy independence from the grid.
The PARENT Platform uses an energy monitoring device (Smappee) and a mobile app to give access to the participant prosumers to their energy consumption compared to others with similar household characteristics (household size, surface area, municipality). The comparison data focuses primarily on information provision and community awareness, but also provides the possibility for participants to engage with each other and compete in making your household energy consumption as efficient as possible.
