The Municipality of Zaanstad in the Netherlands launched own Smart Grid
– REloadIT –
On 1st of March, the official launch of Zaandstaat Smart Grid took place with the presence of more than 100 participants, including representants from various municipalities of the Amsterdam metropolitan area among other interested stakeholders and citizens. Zaanstad’s is now officially the first municipality in the Netherlands that operates its own smart grid system called ‘REloadIT’. This is innovative technology for clean mobility. The smart grid is an ICT system, which provides information on energy use and demand. The REloadIT Smart Grid is introduced at small but scalable size. The smart technology is being developed in a public-private partnership.
